As with many artists, David Ruggeri has been drawing and painting as long as he can remember. Having attended art school in the early 1990s and since garnering his PhD, MBA and Master’s degree, Ruggeri has taken his skillset to the next level with his graffiti-style paintings.

You can often find Ruggeri using bright colors and eye-catching patterns, pulling inspiration from graffiti culture, including pop, street, and nature artists. Similar to his predecessors, graffiti, bold colors, and visual movement are common in his work. This is often achieved by short, thick brush strokes to provide texture, so one can hardly hold back from reaching out and touching the canvas. His works are more than decoration, they become part of the room itself.

Ruggeri’s passion for the outdoors is apparent in his work, with many paintings featuring endangered or almost extinct wildlife. To bring attention to the cause, he has generously donated to benefit many charities over the years, including: The World Wildlife Fund, The Wild Bird Sanctuary, and many animal rescue clinics. It is Ruggeri’s hope to bring more awareness to endangered wildlife and help bring them back from the edge of extinction.

You can find Ruggeri’s work on exhibit in St. Louis and Kansas City galleries as well as throughout nationally recognized art fairs, including those in Miami, Atlanta, St. Louis, and Detroit.
